DECORATE THE CHRISTMAS TREE . . . . 1992 .

21 Dec

My children were; but, one year old, 4 year old and 6 years old.

An as the Holiday Season approached; I found myself short of cash.  As, was running a small business called “Scarecrow Landscaping and Odd Job’s” with a 1967, Ford F600, 24′ foot box truck.

So, a friend of mine stated that I could have a Christmas Tree from his property from Minot, Maine.

Well so off we went to get a Christmas tree.

Arriving, myself and the children just happened to pick a Charlie Brown, white pine 4′ foot tree which you well know is not the customary “Christmas Tree” at all.   But, we did not care we; were, having fun.

When, we got home my significant other noticed that it was nor a true Christmas tree at once; but, the children not realizing the difference could not care less at all and into the corner it went standing proud on it’s own.

Decoration was a different part of the equation.  And, for that I had the answer; “Children I said, ” Go and get the smallest of your toy’s from your bedroom’s; your smallest I said again and off their little feet pattered on the hard wooden floors as if on a grand adventure.

They soon reappeared with the excitement of the Holiday’s and with their smallest of toys in hand.

There were matchbox cars, little dolls, little soldiers, plastic rings, coloring book pictures of associated colors and a host of other small items.

” Children “; is said we shall string these toys and hang them on the Christmas Tree for all to see.  And, so we did.

We did not have enough for the entire tree so we did just the front and left the back empty; not, that anyone would see the Christmas decorations anyway in the rear of the tree against the wall.

We then made and ate more popcorn than we strung. And, made ” paper mache ” decorations with crayons from coloring book page’s.

And then, .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  as night fell on us; we, turned on a soft light and peeked at our days work; as, all the children were still awake.

It had been quite a day for some of us; as, my not yet one year old “hefty’ baby boy ” jumped ” onto my lap to reawaken; ” Me. “

TEARS, OF A MAN WITH A 1000 TEAR’s.

18 Feb

I went stomping as if a child in a part of town that I once stomped as a youth due to family difficulties for a brief period time.

Little Canada, once the French quarter’s of the town of Lewiston, Maine.

I lived with my sister at 146 Oxford St., 3 third floor in Lewiston, Maine while as student at Edward Little High School, Auburn, Heights Auburn, Maine and while being the 1972 Class President.

I also remember watching the construction of the at time, new Edward Little High School in the early 1960’s at the age of seven; as, my sister’s and I were boarded out to a caring family on Western Avenue in Auburn, Maine the Billeaud’s.   But, I digress as a person remembering would at going sixty-five years young of age.

As, I walked by the properties in Little Canada the houses, homes and reality recently acquired by the City of Lewiston, Maine.   My chest began to swell almost to the point of a man with a thousand tears.

I realized that like these properties, houses and once homes slated for demolition.  I too am marching to a different drum beat now.   As my throat begins to swell and I feel the tears of a man with a thousand tears forming at the corners of my eye’s.

Change is hard on your remembrance of monolith’s to your life, your youth, struggles and experiences “pass, out of existence” before your eyes as if a long lost relative dyeing.

 And, then the tears of a man with a 1000 tears begin to fall   .    .    .    .    .    .   ..

ANATOMY; of ” Love “.

19 Feb

First, there is the loneliness of self and loneliness of longing for someone else.

Secondly, there is  the obsession for another and obligations to both.

Thirdly, comes the ecstasies of feeling and the endurance in each other’s happiness, sorrows, hardships and failures; through the expansion of time.

This is ” Love’s ” definition; as I see it.
