100 – Quantitative Easing Part One (1):  I HAVE ONE FOOT PLANTED IN THE PAST.  AND, ONE IN THE PRESENT.   WITH ONE PLANTED WAITING TO HEADED INTO THE  FUTURE.  “It’s, just another generational day”.

19 Jan

With the music of Sir Paul and lady Linda McCartney’s band, “Wings” playing; “Band on the run”, I started to think of the “Dapper Dan” in my life my “Grandfather”.

My Grandfather, on my mother’s side of the family was born in 1906. And, grew up through the first World War (WWI), “The war to end all wars”.

Like our parent’s generation and our generations, he got married had four children as the roaring twenties created opportunities until the Great Depression hit in 1929.

Struggling, to survive with wife and four children; he, took any job available and labored long hours for little pay.

On the death of his wife from disease the community authorities placed his children (My Mom) in a Catholic orphanage in Brooklyn, New York and added to his; I, can not imagine almost insurmountable grief of losing his wife and how his children though he endured and carried on.

Remember, there was no social welfare state, as we know it today and take it for granted.

I love you mom….Having been placed in an orphanage in Brooklyn, New York and the lose of her loving mother through death and never having a mother day of “joy”; then father, and separation from her siblings too different parts of the orphanage; which can do wonder on your development and psyche; as you have great lose of family, family institutional structure and physical affection nurturing; she endured.

And; on top of this; once, again being released and deprived of the only cloistering nurturing familiar structure the Brooklyn New York orphanage at eighteen (18) years young of age and having to start all over again and endure the struggle and sting of life; must have been somewhat daunting and created disillusion about life.

Remember; there was no social welfare state as we know it today.  The, “Great Society” did not really appear and get into full swing until the early 1980’s.  * It takes about 4 years before the effect of administrative changes are felt by the public.

So, enduring all this; loss of mother, father, separation from one’s sibling’s, placement in a Catholic Orphanage,  then World War Two (WWII) ignited, and your brother goes to war with your new love; my dad..

I’ve got to stop now.  Because, it is beginning to weigh heavy on my heart this generational suffering.

My mom; is still alive and well at age 90 years young on June 21. 2018 an attends my second father who has dementia and expects people to show up after being dead for 30 or more year’s.  She is still driving and is still advising me.

Her baby boy at 65 year’s young.

From an understanding and loving son . . . who, tries hard an often falls short.  Chucky
