UPDATE: Housing on Lisbon, Street Lewiston, Maine is on track after a scare. Well Done! www.Szantoncompany.com

29 Nov

A proposal has been submitted to Auburn, Maine City Planner’s and the Szanton Company has a project well underway in Lewiston, Maine which maybe completed by 2019.

“The Szanton Company” is a developer of mixed working income affordable housing which is based in Portland, Maine.  http://www.szantoncompany.com.

The Szanton Company also has a project underway in Lewiston, Maine on Lisbon Street which will be utilizing part of the building as store frontage with apartments and this structure is moving at rapid speed as of 26 April 2018.   And, could be completed this fall; if, all goes well.

The, reason that I endorsed this project is that it includes low income housing for single working individuals and is expected to increase the tax base for the Lewiston, Maine resident tax relief at a rate $33,000.00 a year.

Szanton, also has a project submitted for Auburn, Maine.

*  The structure in Auburn, Maine proposed is of a designed three story building about 125 feet long by 70 feet in width with a ground level porch at one corner.  The roof is made up of  a multi -window in roof styling and with an appearance of that which appears to be of the mid 1860’s.

This structure is a beauty and an asset to  the Auburn, Maine Community.  However, the Library will have to give-up some parking to facilitate and the 58 unit structure will have only 25 parking area’s.

I might add; that, it was “started” at the Auburn, Maine Library thanks to a friends aid that I received from the Director and Staff of the Auburn Library.   And, that, I rarely attended in the 1969 – 1973 as a student at Edward Little High School.   But, now find it to be and is a vital part of my life.
